CMMS Data Group (CDG), my 1st baby, just turned 20 this past July and I am so proud to have watched us grow. Who would have thought that we would have come this far after I started the company in 2000 with a $600 credit card check? I guess if there is a will, there is a way!
Nonetheless, I fondly look back at the last 20 years. It has been an amazing journey. I can’t believe that CMMS Data Group is all grown up now and I especially can’t wait for the next 20 years!
To celebrate our growth and success, we decided that it was time for some cosmetic improvements because CDG needed a more modern, grown-up look. As such, I am proud to share the following new logos with you:
I would like to give a shout out to Ken Fields, maintenance team leader, at Avery Dennison in Painesville, OH. Back in 2000, Ken and his maintenance manager, Jamie Ursitti, made me realize that it was finally time for me to start a company to help CMMS users take advantage of their software. After they offered me an eye-opening dollar amount to come back on the weekends and help them with their MP2 CMMS software, I knew it was time. Hence, I started CDG in July, and shortly thereafter, Ken designed the 2000 logo for me. Thank you, Ken, for your support, believing in me, being a faithful friend over the years, and designing CDG’s most beautiful and amazing first logo. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 😊
This logo, “Shared Knowledge * Quality Results”, is the most important logo because it defines who we are and wha2t we do. Regardless of the subject, we want to share our knowledge with you because when knowledge is shared, everyone learns. When everyone learns, the deliverable is quality results and quality results make things more efficient and jobs easier, giving companies a competitive edge.
In the old logo, the overlapping hexagons represent the sharing of knowledge. The more hexagons, the better because it means knowledge is being shared and the more knowledge shared, the better. And because knowledge is power, shared knowledge makes organizations stronger and more competitive.
In the new logo, a solid cube was chosen to represent a building block of knowledge. Inside the center of the cube, even though it is an optical illusion, a hexagon can be seen. With solid building blocks (of knowledge) building upon each other, the foundation keeps getting stronger and smarter and that is the foundation that we want for you, your team, and your organization.
Moving forward, the Shared Knowledge Cube will be present in future branding and messaging and examples follow:
Additionally, our website has a new look and feel. Please check it out at cdg.com.
Even though we are changing our look and feel and continue to grow, we will always remain the same old us and will always continue to:
As our team grows, we will continue to remain cohesive and adhere to the following core values:
My dad always told me, “To improve, change is needed, however, you never know if the change is going to be good or not.” I hope you like our latest changes and think they are good. Please let me know and thank you in advance.
